Morning! Gunna try to update you on what ending up being a very eventful and stressful week....well....for me anyway!
Natalie, Coach Chris and the OSU ladies made their way to San Diego on Tuesday. Practices and "played" on their spring break. Then played the Princeton team on Saturday. Lucky for Natalie and all the ladies at the tennis center, that the Navy Seals were having a fundraiser that day. Although the tennis team was trying to beat Princeton, they were distracted by the handsome and pretty people in white uniforms. I mean does it get any better then that??? Sorry, I digressed! Anyway there were Seals......oooo wait I said that already.....there were para troopers coming in for a landing....CIA agents, etc., all giving Natalie and the team plenty of distraction.
Happy to say that the team handled Princeton in fashion time.....maybe the extra motivation of the audience or that OSU is that good.....either way....a great thing! The win was not without a lil lady drama. Seems that one of the Princeton players was a bit of a poor loser and wouldn't shake the have of the OSU victor. Never a good thing....words were exchanged. A shame really, but in or after the heat of a battle it happens.
Natalie enjoyed San Diego once again. Not only getting to see her former team mate Jen, and one of the best assistant college coaches ever Mario and his beautiful wife Kristen. But the beach, the roof top look over the Padres stadium. And the fun times with the team. A Spring Break to remember.
Our gal traveled back to Oklahoma yesterday and I'm sure will be sleeping the morning away. On a PT note, she has be released for agility training and was very excited. For the first time in over 8 months she hit tennis balls cross court for over an hour. It felt so good, that she didn't realize she had been hitting for the long. A great thing!
As for me, the day Nat left for SD, was the day that began the black spiral of my week. Had the septic folks out to empty "us", only to be locked out of the house by Nana. Who I believe saw the two strangers and panicked. That evening lil Ed and I were driving to trade my car in at the dealership for him to get a brand new car.....we broke down four exits from the dealership. UGH! Had it towed, spent the next 3 days sorting all that out. Was able to trade it in and Ed get his new Honda on Friday. Now, I pray for a great peach season so that maybe by fall I can replace my car. Until then I will be rocking our back up beater.....Nana's old Crown Vic! LOL!
Hope everyone is enjoying spring or the end of winter....either way hope its great! Love and Blessings....Sherry!

Last Night
Quick update from my phone...I hope:
Last night Natalie had the chance to have dinner with her former team mate Jennifer Meredith, former UT Volunteer Coach Mario and his wife Kristen.
Here they are:

Poker for Kyle
Good Morning! Just a quick update and video!
Happy to say Natalie made it through the five days of sprints last week. Felt pretty good about it too. She spoke to Tab and its a gooooo....what you might ask??? She can start agility training, a huge step/progress in her rehab. Needless to say, Nat was very excited bout going to the next step.
Spoke to our gal this, she and the team arrived safely in San Diego. Where they will spend Spring Break training and competing. A city we both love, every since she played juniors there. The fondest memory being.....me forcing her to stay at a Hostel in the heart of the city for a couple of nights. It was awesome! Sorry, I digressed. Any who......the team will practice the next few days, sight see and then play Pepperdine on Saturday.
This past weekend the Cowgirls played Baylor and lost on Friday. Then played the Longhorns on Saturday and won. Def not the results they were hoping for, but maybe the motivation they need. God's plan as they say! Saving that Baylor for another day?
For the last couple of weeks I've been helping a friend.....Mimi....organize a poker fund raiser for Kyle. You see, he is a double lung transplant recipient. Unfortunately, the meds and treatments he needs on a monthly basis run in the thousands of dollars. So, he and his lovely wife Katerra need help. A wonderful group of volunteers and sponsors pulled together and put on an awesome poker event. We were able to raise a lil over $2,000 for this young, newly married couple. If you would like to donate, contact either Natalie or me and we will help you do just that.

They Ate Rice
Good Afternoon Folks, and a warm afternoon it is. Have to say or should I say brag, today and yesterday have been warm days. A wonderful reminder that spring is near. The daffodils are in full bloom and next will be the beautiful dogwoods.
Natalie has been working hard on PT. She spoke to Tab yesterday, was a lil disappointed that she has to repeat last week's therapy. She needed to do five days of sprints and was only able to complete four days. Sooooo close and yet sooo far. Our gal was not a happy camper but knows she will have it this week.
Nat was able to join Coach Chris, his wife and children for church yesterday. She enjoyed the fellowship and lunch that followed. However, she wasn't happy that her beloved Lady Vols basketball team lost in the SEC Championship to South Carolina. Let's hope they are saving that win for the NCAA tourney!
This past weekend was an important one for Natalie, Coach Chris and the Cowgirls. For they played Rice and New Mexico. They ate Rice up for dinner on Friday and sent New Mexico packin on Saturday. Two solid wins! This week is Baylor at OSU. A conference foe, gives this match Conference Champion implications......important indeed. Not to mention that the assistant coach is Alison, University of Tennessee All American. And a very good friend of ours.
Love and Blessings......Sherry!

Tooooo Funny On So Many Levels!
Good Morning! Hope this entry finds you and yours doing well and thinking bout spring!
Spoke to Natalie yesterday, her rehab is going well. She is hoping that Tab will clear her for the next step. Her foot still exhibits weakness, although milestones have been achieved. Had to remind her that it two years after her hip surgery before it was "normal". Unfortunately, the experience with the hip and doctors has tainted her thinking about this injury. As many of you may remember, she had many misdiagnoses which lead to the wrong treatments. So, she won't allow herself to be excited or hopeful, due to the fear of disappointment. So, unfortunate but yet totally understandable.
Our gal talked about being excited for the first time in a while about being on a court and hitting. Again, she wouldn't allow herself! With each step of progress in rehab, will come the confidence to believe all will be ok and right with the world and foot. She has been enjoying hitting with some of the OSU team members. And is getting a "kick" out of their reaction to her abilities, although limited......on the court. The team members have been very sweet and supportive.
A lil story of the day.......Natalie was in the gym lifting yesterday. While bench pressing, she ran out of gas for her last rep. Here is the group text she sent me and her brothers:
"OMG so awk. I legit could not do my last rep. So, I just sat there and a guy came and helped me. He lifted it off me with one arm.....hahahahahhahaha"
BBBBBAAAAAAHHHHAHAHAHHAH.....tooo funny on so many levels! I guess that's one way to meet guys....have em rescue you!
As you can see, Nat has not lost her sense of humor through all this. I was happy to hear her talking about fundraising and planning her "comeback" for the fall. She is hoping to be at full training level before leaving OSU in May. A very obtainable goal.
As for me, I'm feeling much better. And appreciate those that have reached out to me and have prayed for me. It worked! Thank you! Love and Blessings.....Sherry
