"Piece of Cake Mom"

Good Morning!  Hope you and yours are all healthy, wealthy and wise!  The Pluskota family is hanging in there.  Much like your family, ours is going in a hundred different directions.  Crossing paths once in a while.

Our Natalie, has been working like a dog these days.  Teaching camp and anywhere from 6-9 one hour lessons a day.  The good news for her.....camp is over!  And a wonderful family, had an end of camp party.  Complete with an outdoor movie screen, with the feature.....Pitch Perfect 2.  One of Nat's favorite movies.  Also include in the festivities.....food trucks.  One being a brick pizza oven, supplying personalized pizza.  The tent city included.....fresh popcorn, fresh pretzels and of course CANDY. Natalie and the kids had a blast, I think dancing was involved as well.  Anyway, it was an awesome way to end the camp.  Here are a few pics from the event:

Prior to attending that amazing camp party, Nat went to the lobster bake.  Again, she doesn't do seafood, but she enjoyed the evening with friends.  And the setting at the club was so beautiful, she can easily forget bout the lobster part.

Yesterday, our gal's work out was interrupted by a mom in need.  What did she need, you ask?  A babysitter.  Now, for those of you that have known Natalie the longest, know that she has said since she was very young that she would never have kids.  So, when she texted me that she was going to babysit, I laughed out loud.  To her defense, she loves kids and has tackled this task in the past and had a blast with the kids.  She sorta talks out of both sides of her mouth on the topic of kids and it is so darn funny.  I'm going to share out text messages from yesterday and let you get a glimpse of what I'm taking about and hopefully you too will laugh out loud:

Natalie:   Natalie will officially have to change her first diaper tonight
Sherry:    ?
Natalie:    Babysitting tonight
Sherry:     How many kids
Natalie:    Three, but two are older
Sherry:     Ages, baby a girl or boy?
Natalie:    And the nugget is only up for like two more hours, the others are ten, baby is a boy
Sherry:     Keep penis covered while changing or he might squirt u
Natalie:     OMG, OMG are you serious?  This is gonna be awful!    HAHAHAHAHHAH
Sherry:     Yep
Natalie:     Oh hell no.  I'm gonna freak if he squirts me!  EW
Sherry:      Cold air hits the private and private will squirt.    LOL  LOL
Natalie:     OMG gross.  I'm never having kids   HAHAHHAHAAHAH

Spoke to her prior to bed.  And in her words...."piece of cake mom, the kids are amazing and with those velcro tabs, diapers are soooo easy.  I had no idea how easy diapers would be, I handled that".  Well duh Nat, I mean you played three sports in high school.  You are a four time All American grad from the University of Tennessee, have travelled the world.....I think you can master diaper changing.  OOOOO my....I hope y'all are laughing out loud as I am just reliving it as I write.

Guess my mom work is not done yet!  Lifetime learners right?  Indeed!  Let's all go out and learn something today.....Love and Blessings.....Sherry!

Kanine Kourt

Morning....please find below my FB entry....with some corrections.

Ok....time for the Kanine Kourt update....LOL!  After sitting through 14 other cases it was our turn.  The defendant Anna, represented herself, altho confused with the process and full of nerves.  The judge muddled thru it with her.  Once asking her what did she expect the outcome to be..."well since no one got hurt, it wasn't a big deal....so I thought I might get a fine or maybe not".  Me SMH (shaking my head)!  The judge turned to the Animal Control Officer Morris to tell the story of the day.  Then the judge asked me if I anything to add....yup...biggggggg mistake.....LOL!

My reply was SOMETHING like this...."yes sir,  IT WAS A BIG DEAL!  I was thinking biut the lil girl (bout 5 years old)  that was in court with us a short time ago.  What if she was walking with me when were were attacked?"  She could have been very seriously injured.  I should be able to safely walk in my neighborhood and not be scared I'm going to be attacked by this or any dog".

Judge..."I totally agree, not sure if everyone in this room gets it but I agree.  I had something similar happen to me and my grand kids...etc....etc".  Me...."I would like to add....that not this young lady or her mother offered an "I'm sorry",  <<<insert Anna sobs here>>>   "is your dog ok", "are you ok",  "do you need a ride home"....nothing your honor."

Judge...."well, I'm sorry no apology was made, and I cant force anyone to apologize in this room, but I would hope that would be done outside of these four walls.  Although I'm not sure if responsibility is being taken in this room".

By this time, Anna is sobbing uncontrollably and I'm feeling the mom sorry for her.

Judgement:  $300 fine, she turned in a shot record and 180 days of probation.

Finally, the sobbing let me know there was remorse or was she feeling sorry for herself....that one thought kept me from helping her pay the $300 fine.  OOOOO yea, this softy actually thought bout helping her....but then.....I relived those moment from last week and thought...."later bitch, pay up or go to jail".  OOOOOO wait....guess I shouldn't cuss....not good for the neighborhood right???".

There you have it folks, had my day in court.  And I'm very glad I got up at 5 a.m. after two hours of sleep to drive home from Biloxi.  Got to town with one hour to spare.  Stopped at a local restaurant for a caffeine loaded Coke and a quick change of clothes.  Added make up and made it to court with 20 minutes to spare.

Well, let me go grab my big stick and take the dog for a walk.  Love and Blessings....Sherry!

Our Budding Artist's Piece

Good morning from a lil soggy Georgia!  Our gal has become very busy in the Hamptons.  The crowd has finally arrived and so has the hot weather.  Natalie is teaching about seven one hour lessons a day and summer kids camp.  Guess she is learning alot about what she doesn't want to do the rest of her life.  However, she is excited to bank some funds to use to get back to her pro career and the road.  Sooo all is good.

Last week the club hosted a paint party.  Natalie and Brett helped fill the seats and the canvas.  Kinda of a chuckle for me and anyone else that was around to see Miss N's fine artwork while she was in high school.  Rumor has it she may or may not have paid someone to complete some of her projects back then.  LOL!  The products have made amazing door stops and weapons of less then mass destruction.  We often joke that if we have a break in.....run for Nat's artwork and you will be sure to be alive in the end.

....Annnnyyyway......sorry....I digressed......

Not only did they have an amazing view for the class, they had a blast.  And I guess Natalie's piece was deemed "best tree".  Please enjoy the pictures below from their evening.  Now, we have to figure out how to get it home.....

There you have it....our budding artist's piece.  LOL!  Well, I have things to do, but will update you soon on Kanine Kourt results.  Until then Love and Blessings.....Sherry!

Princess Peach

Good Morning from a sunny Mississippi!  Good thing I sang that song growing up, otherwise the spelling of this state would be tricky.  Many thanks to the parent or teacher that taught it to me!  Why in MS, you ask???  I've been invited to play in a Black Jack tourney and Poker tourney.  Wish me luck!

....Anyway.....

<<Climbing on My Soapbox>>

The other morning....Princess Peach....shown here....

....and I were out for our morning walk/workout.  I've been working hard to get back into running shape.  Anyway.....about two miles into our walk we were attacked by an unleashed dog.  There was two ladies in their driveway, one came chasing after the aggressor.  The dog ran full speed ahead at Princess and tried to bite her neck.  I continued to tug Princess, just as the aggressor would try to comp down on her.  Now granted, I was yelling "get your F*%K#@N Dog!  While the one gal was chasing her out of control dog, the other just stood in the drive doing nothing.  After what seemed like a forever of dancing with these dogs and the other gal....she was able to grab her crazed dog.

As I was walking away to regroup and check out Princess....the lady on the drive yelled something like....."quit your cussing, we don't want that in our neighborhood"

DOOOOO WHAT????

My response, "get your F&%K*@G dog on a leash!"  Can you believe she repeated herself??  My response, "you can explain it to the police, I'm calling 911".

WHAT is wrong with people?  Not a "ma'am is your dog ok", "ma'am are you ok",  ma'am I'm soooo sorry", "ma'am can we drive you home, call someone to come get you".  NOTHING.....only....."quit your cussing".  OOOOo by the way, an unleashed crazy aggressive dog is not good for our neighborhood Anna, get a leash.

Well, Anna.....I'll see your Forking Arse in Forking court....Monday!    LOL.....sorry couldn't resist.  Now, I have to cut my trip down by two days cuz of this!  That's OK, I'll be happy to see her pay the two citations.....ignoring the leash law and no proof of shots.  Thank God, no skin was broken on Princess or me.

<<Climbing Off Soapbox>>

Happy to say, Natalie is feeling great and is over that crud.  She was excited to be going to a concert with Brett last night.  I haven't spoken to her yet, so not sure if it was good or now.  I think it was Sam Hunt...if so....I'm sure it was awesome....just sayin!

Well, time to stretch and then hit the showers.  Make it a great day....do something for someone else!  Love and Blessings.....Sherry!

Cycling is Good for the Soul

Good morning from a peach free zone.  Peach free cuz we sold out yesterday....YAY us!  So we have the day off, a Sunday off....wow....haven't had one since May.  Guess our awesome customers are fearing the fact that the end of the season is coming.  Many thanks to our fantastic customers.  We so enjoy their "peach" stories.  Like my friend Michele, she contacted me last week for more peaches.....stating that she had run out the day before and dreamt about them that night.  And in her words, "I need peaches, now".   OR   The tour bus that stopped two weeks ago.  Filled with a group of wonderful Chinese peeps who were excited to see Georgia Peaches.  Something they have heard much about but never experienced.  So, after many photos ops, they purchased a few cases and went on their merry way.   OR  The wonderful, sweet, soft spoken lady that quietly purchased one case of peaches (25 pounds) per week.  Of course, we assumed she did so, like soooo many others to can or freeze.  But after 7-9 weeks of purchases, she finally told us that she is battling cancer.  And that her doctor wants her to have several smoothies per day using lots of peaches.  He wants her to eat tons of peaches to help her fight and heal the cancer.  Wow....who knew!  So you see, like tennis....our peach stand is a journey too!  God Bless our customers and thank you!

Well, the planning has begun......the COMEBACK!  After much thought, emotion and conversations, Natalie has decided not to "go out" on an injury.  I for one am just happy for a decision and to be done with the limbo time.  So, the basic plan is for her to come home on September 8th, train a couple of weeks and to head to Charleston for a 10K.  For now, Natalie will only play doubles, then at some point next year will decide on singles.  Hopefully, she will be able to find a solid partner and be able to get into the tourney.  She doesn't have a ranking, we will be hoping and praying for wild cards to get her going quick.

This morning my phone rang early, it was Natalie.  Her first words, "hey, I just had a life changing experience".
My response, "what was that?".
Natalie:  "I just took a Soul Cycling class".
Sherry:  <<laughing>>
Natalie:  "For real, it was awesome.  But the attendees are crazy and I'm serious bout that"
Sherry:  <<laughing>>

The moral to the story......don't ask if they are going to turn the lights on for the class......don't drop your water bottle during the first song......peeps take their cycle class very, very seriously.  Natalie will talk 100 miles an hour after the class, Adrenalin.  LOL....that's my gal!

Happy to say Nat is feeling much better.  Although her meds ran out Thursday, she seems to be getting over it.  Much to her credit she has continued to work and work out.  Happy tho that she also took three hour naps, her body needed it.  She found out that life goes on even when you are sick....in the real world of employment.

Well, back to business card designing, tour planning and giggling at our Soul Cyclist.  Until next time, Love and Blessings......Sherry!

Quick Update

Just a quick update before I head to the peach stand.  Our gal has been very sick the last week.  A summer cold with severe bronchitis.  She made a trip to a quick clinic, but the meds ran out and she is still sick.  Currently, she searches for a local doc for a follow up and more meds.  Mom is hoping that is prior to a relapse.

The ticket is bought.....Natalie is coming home September 8th.  Just in time to celebrate Nana's 91st birthday.  And to join in at the yelling and screaming at the TV, college football season.  But more importantly, to ready herself for her next step in life.  A couple intense weeks of home cooking and eating, followed by training.  Yes....I said training.....our gal will be making her comeback to the pro circuit.  As she would say, "I can't go out on an injury".  Soooo folks, prepare yourself for the new craziness.  The lil yellow ball will bounce soon.  We look forward to seeing our old friends and meeting new ones too.  More about that in the upcoming days.

Until, then.....I've got peaches to sell to help pay for it.....LOL!  Love and Blessings.....Sherry!

Powell Hitchin

Greeting from a slightly cooler Georgia!  Praise the Lord for the lower temps and humidity.  A couple of weeks ago lil Ed served as my escort since Natalie is in the Hamptons.  He escorted me to Powell Hitchin.  Living away from family for 28 years, we dont' get to attend many weddings or showers.  So, I was very excited to be part of the special day.  Here is a view of the day via my lens......Best Wishes to Kaitlin and Josh:
