L'ETOILE Sport

Hello from a sunny, yet overcast and rainy Charleston!  As we await the results of the brewing hurricane, we are accomplishing much.  Had to take the jeep to the dealership this morn.  My prediction a rear wheel sensor....we shall see what they say.  While I was doing that, Natalie copped a ride to the courts for practice, that was rained out mid way through.  So here we sit...watching On Demand and blogging.

As promised....let me introduce Natalie wearing her new sponsored clothing line.......

L'ETOILE
SPORT

Must say, she was very excited to go change into her new clothes prior to the match.  We are sooo very appreciative of Yesim's support of Natalie.  Please check out her website via the link above.  The clothes are amazing and the quality of fabrics is very notable.

Well, need to work on next week's housing in Hilton Head.  Will blog a lil later bout tomorrow's match...until then....Love and Blessings....Sherry!

Lucky #13

Hello Folks!  Since I'm blogging via my phone this is gunna be short and sweet!  First, here is a pic I took yesterday.  It was taken right after Caroline picked our #13 which put them into the main draw:

As for today....our team....shown above ...played the team of Otsuka/Song.  Both of which are very young Americans.  Our team took an early lead only to let it slip just a lil.  Tied at two all, our team turned it up and never looked back at the first set.

You wondering how Natalie played?  Well, let me tell you.  Brilliant at times and rusty at others.  But overall, both ladies played very solid dubs.

Ok...,back to the match!  We took a 3-0 lead in the second and then went to sleep.  We couldn't hit a first serve or a solid return.  And to the credit of the opponents, they stepped their game.  Our team never lost the lead in the second but it got close.  We were up 5-4, then 6-5....before finally closing the deal at 7-5.  Defienitly closer then it should have been but hey a win is a win! She'sssssBaaacccckkkk!   Lol

Well, tommorrow is an off day and only practice will occur.  Our team will play again on Thursday.  I will post some links tomorrow.  Until then Love and Blessings...Sherry!

Charleston

Cheerio from Charleston!  We traveled safely to Crason's home yesterday.  Hugged the birthday boy, grabbed a quick pizza and some laughs.  Then got some ZZZzzzzsss.

Headed out early to the LPT Tennis Center.  Where I witnessed two very talented former college players "sweat out" whether or not they would get into the dubs draw.  Neither Natalie, nor her partner Caroline Price (UNC grad) have a doubles ranking.  The noon deadline came and went.  The Supervisior asked Caroline to help with the draw.

Let me set the stage.  There were 14 teams but only 13 spots.  Caroline had to draw for the 13 teams to get into the tournament.  First each team was assigned a number.  She drew lucky number 13 for "our team".  Then she had to draw 13 teams to get in.  She drew 12 teams....NONE of which was our team 13.  Which meant there were two teams left, one would get in and one would not. She then drew the #13 team to fill the 13th place in the tourney.  WEW...we are in.

In case all that drama wasn't enough.  She then had to draw 3 teams from the 13, all of which would be placed into the main draw.  She drew 2 teams, neither we lucky team 13.  Then she drew the final team and IT WAS lucky team 13.  Lol.....so exciting and nerve racking.  So, I'm very happy to say our team is in the main draw.  Their first match is tomorrow, not before 2:30 p.m.

We headed to our host family's home.  Where we were greeted by the cutest house sitting couple ever, Nancy and Richard.  After a short visit with them our house mom Jodi arrived.

We chatted awhile  then headed out for an amazing dinner.  After which we headed to the house and our beds.  After a few lengthy phone calls and now this blog entry it bed time!  I'm very excited to say....I'll talk to you ....after I get to see the lil yellow ball bounce.....love and Blessings...Sherry!  P.S. Sorry if blog  has more then normal amount of errors, I writing it via my phone.

Amazing News

Good Morning!  And no, I can't sleep.  The amazing news is that in just a few short hours Natalie and I will be heading out the door.  We will be heading to Charleston, SC to Nat's first tournament on her comeback tour.  The tourney is a 10K and our gal will be playing doubles only.  Again, she will decide next year about singles.  But for now, she will work on her doubles ranking.

Over lunch the other day, Natalie was expressing that she was surprised to be having a sense of excitement about returning to the tour.  And excited to reconnect with the many families and friends she has met along the way.  Tomorrow, we will stay just outside of Charleston with Carson.  Who is my son from another mother ....as they say.  Then on Monday, we will travel to the tourney for Natalie to check in and see if she can get in.  Starting from the bottom as they say, so fingers crossed she will get in and play.

Today, we celebrate lil Ed's birthday, Nat's older brother.  Unfortunately, our Vols lost....again.....which dampened the day.  And no, I can't discuss it yet!  I mean really, another blown lead....come on!  Sorry, I digressed!  A very Happy Early Birthday to Ed!

Well, need to try to get a few hours of sleep....tty on the flip side of the drive....Love and Blessings....Sherry!

Nuff Said....

Greetings from a screamed out, frustrated Tennessee football house.  How do you lose in double OT after being up by 14 points.......UGH!  Many reasons, we are young.  Our defense is a work in progress.  Etc., etc., etc......

.....anyway

I'm going to repost a blog I thought I posted bout two weeks ago via my phone, that some how didn't post to this blog.  Long story and I need to figure it out soon, for we will be on the road soon and I need to be able to blog via my phone.  Electronics are awesome, unless of course they aren't working properly.  So, here it is:

Greetings from Georgia!  Natalie has been extremely busy on the courts.  Which has me wondering how she has had time for phone calls, sponsorship meetings, babysitting, tutoring, laundry, etc.  Hope she doesn't stay up half the night on the phone, so she stays rest4ed and doesn't get sick again.

Anyway, she is 8 days from coming home.  and a lil over three weeks from hitting the road.  We've been working on shoe corder, string orders, racquet orders, clothing sponsor.....YES....finally a clothing sponsor.  Natalie is very excited about her new relationship with her sponsor.  Nuff bout that for now, sorry more details will be released in the near future.

Here is a pic of Natalie and her student Hudson:

OK, there you have it!

Now, let me update you about the last week and a half.  Besides Natalie working very hard on and off the court.  She made a day trip to New York and the U.S. Open.  Meeting a friend there, she had a blast catching up with players, staff, college coaches and friends.  Our gal had a full day of networking too!  She received some great offers for coaching and practice, as well as great support of her comeback.  Here are a few pics from her day and her great seats:

Natalie and Courtney (formally of OSU)........selfie with Lopez!

Happy to say that Nat travelled home safely on Tuesday.  And she hit the ground running with practice and details for her return to the tournament court.  Today, she is in Knoxville for the game and some practice with the Tennessee men's team.  Here is a pic from today's game.....

Well, there is a brief update.  I will post some more soon!  I can't wait to post the pics of Natalie in her newly sponsored clothing line.  But first, I need to take the pics!  Love and Blessings.....Sherry!
