The Adult Clinic....Rock Hill

Greetings!  Wanted to post some more pics from Rock Hill.  We love that tourney and the people involved with it.   But wanted to give a special shout out to our hosts Dane, Lynn, Misha, Braxton and Gabby.  They and their eight dogs, two rabbits, five cats and ferret made us feel welcomed and loved.  We always have a blast with this family.  And this visit was no different.  We thank them for taking great care of us and our needs.

As promised.....the Adult Clinic.....

Booootiful Day!

Happy Halloween!  This blog is a long time coming, sorry for that.  The more I try to find time to blog, the less I seem to have.  It is becoming a bit annoying to say the least.  Having soooo many great blogs floating in my head.....like lil ghosts....I'm gunna try to get them and the cob webs out.

First, more pics from the awesome Rock Hill tournament:

Well, this blog was interrupted by a scare.  A not soooo good scare.  Our Nana was walking down her hall to the kitchen, when lil Ed walked in from the garage.  Unfortunately, the door opening a few feet in front of Nana which spooked her and down she went.  Happy to report that Nana is ok, and lil Ed is too.

Never a dull moment!  Natalie is down at Fort Benning, last night she enjoyed Trunk and Treat.  Today, her brothers Nic and Ed are joining her for some paint gun fun.  I'm sure they will enjoy their day together.

Well, need to go check on Nana and make sure nothing has started hurting.  Hope you enjoy a Boootiful day filled with love and fun!  Love and Blessings.....Sherry!

"Hey Nat, 46 More Seconds....

Good morning from a freezing South Carolina.  Natalie put on five layers and headed out to practice this morning.  I'm going to blog from my phone cuz the hotel didn't have service.  A frustrating situation.

When we arrived at the tennis center yesterday, headed straight to the dubs sign in sheet.  Our team, was in the qualifier, barely.  Soon after, others we coming to sign up, late arrivals.  Natalie connected with Florenia who is dubs ranked in the high two hundreds.  They agreed to team up and try to get into the draw.  Carolina was there, and understood the change of partners.  This is done often, you can look at the list and determine prior to close of sign up if you need to change up partners.

Still tricky tho, for Natalie doesn't have a ranking.  So their pairing is listed as ranked plus unranked.  When they make up the draw it goes as follows:

Ranked and ranked
Ranked and unranked
Unranked and unranked

At first glance "our team" was the 11th team out of 11 ...in the main draw.  But we still had an hour till the close of sign in.  Tick, tick, tick.  Sure enough, here came some peeps to sign up.  Moving our team out of the main and first into the qualifier.

Now, just to be clear.  Natalie and Carolina were offered a wild card.  But, they refused it, in hopes of saving it.  You see they have used two of the three for the year.  They are hoping to get a third one at a "bigger" tourney.

Tick, tick, tick ....the clock seemed to crawl at a snails pace to high noon.  With those around adding to the suspense by yelling out, "hey Nat only 8 more minutes".  Or "hey Nat, only 4 more minutes". Or  "hey Nat, 46 more seconds".  Lol, yes too funny and crazy nerve racking.

Then finally, "hey Nat, you are in the main draw cuz a wild went unused which bumped y'all up to the main".  WooooHooooo!

Truth be told, the room erupted with cheers for Natalie getting in, very sweet support indeed.  A testimony to Nat and the other pros, that they do support each other when it involves someone coming back from injury.

So, Natalie and Florencia will play today, fourth on after ten.  Which of course is code for 2ish.  They will play the 4th seeded team of Gabueva(RUS) and Sotnkiova(UKR).  Speaking for Nat only, she has been across the net on a dubs court, from both the opponents.  The most recent being Sotnkiova, last week.

That's it for now, until that lil yellow ball begins to bounce....Love and Blessings...Sherry!

Last Minute

With a last minute partner change....Natalie got into main draw!  I will blog details later!  WOOT!

A Quick Update Bout Today

Good morning, again!  First, sorry the rest of the pictures from the Rock Hill kids clinic and Pro Am haven't been posted.  Unfortunately, the internet we had while there couldn't handle the upload.  I'm hoping to accomplish that feat tonight or tomorrow.

Second, this will be a quick update, for we have to check out of our hotel shortly.  Hopefully, we will be checking back in this afternoon.  Here's the scoop.  We are currently in Florence, SC at a 25K tourney.  We don't have a wild card, nor want one.  Why you ask, cuz Natalie is saving her final 2015 wild card in hopes of using it in an upcoming 50K tourney.  That ole, leap of faith thing.  Anyway.....today the ladies will sign in for dubs.  The deadline is noon.  Their hope is to get into the main draw....of course.  But if not that, get into the one round qualifying draw.

The qualifier will be played today at one.  Due to all that we checked out of the hotel.  Cuz if they don't get in, Natalie will "work" the Pro Am then we will head for home.  Now, I don't know why, but I'm feeling good bout their chances of getting into the tourney.  We shall see.  Until then, Love and Blessings....Sherry!

Dubs Practice

Good morning!  Nat's still sleeping so can't type on computer.  Sorry for lack of blogs but our internet has been lacking.  Hopefully, that will change today.

Natalie and Caroline practiced some dubs prior to leaving Rock Hill .  Here's a pic of the foursome:

Masterfully Played

Evening from a very eventful Rock Hill.  First, I will catch you up on yesterday's match.  Facing the three seeds, our team came out blazing.  Winning the first set in record time and fashion.  About 30 minutes ....6-0.  Then there was the second set.  Not good.  Although we were clearly the better team, for some reason we didn't play as such.  Losing the set 4-6.  Then there was the tie breaker in lieu of the third seat.  That was even worse then the second set, including two double faults from our team.  A shame we beat ourselves.   Cuz the first set was masterfully played by our team.  Do need to mention, our team has come a very long way from their first match together.  So, they have progressed in a major positive way, a shame no win to to for it.  Here's a few pics:

Today, we met with Caroline and her coach for some solid dubs practice.  The ladies made great use of their time with Sam.  Then we headed for home and dinner.  Then the fun of packing continued.  These poor folks are burning the candles at 3 ends.  The least we can do it help pack.

Tomorrow, the ladies will have some more dubs practice.  Then I'm sure more packing, for the movers arrive Saturday morning.  Speaking of Saturday, we will head to Florence, SC that day.   In hopes, that our team will squeak into either the main or qualifying doubles draws.  Hopefully, I will get to watch the lil yellow ball bounce next week, time will tell.  Until then, Love and Blessings.....Sherry!
