This past weekend Natalie, Coach Chris and Coach Courtney coached their team to victory. The first round of the NCAAs team competition was played on Saturday. The OSU Cowgirls took on Boston College and moved on to the Round of 32 with a 4-3 win. On Sunday, the gals played ASU a tough foe. Coached by a legend of a player and coach.....as well as friend of ours....Sheila McInerney. The Cowgirls lost the dubs point, then went down the first set on several courts in singles. But I guess, the goal set at the beginning of the year to head to the Round of 16, rang in their heads. Cuz they turned it on and went on to victory. And are now, for the first time in many years heading to the Round of 16. Which will be in Waco, Texas.
A bit of a bittersweet pill for the Pluskota family. We haven't seen our gal since January, when she left us in a cloud of dust and unsettled feelings. So, instead of her coming home today, she will head to Waco this week and hopefully help coach the team to continued victories. Hopefully, we will get to see her for an hour or two before she heads to the Hamptons. Def won't hold our breath!
As for the Cowgirls, they will face the University of Florida in the Round of 16. A very tough foe indeed. Natalie will be excited to see Brook and the other Lady Gators and their coaches. But she, Chris and Courtney will have their work cut out for them and their coaching abilities. The Cowgirls will have to rise to the occasion which they are fully capable of doing. Should be a great match of great tennis.
As for me, gearing up for peach selling season. Almost hard to believe it will start next week. Can't wait to pig out on some of the best peaches in Georgia. Hopefully, the harvest will plentiful for I need a car and two air conditioning units for the house. Sure would be easier if I had a full time job, which of course I can't obtain as long as our Nana lives with us. Must say, I will sell peaches 24x7 if that means my mom continues to be well enough to live with us.
