Again sorry for the delay in updates, but being on crutches has complicated my life. Today, Natalie found herself playing Michaela Boev (BEL), ranked 982 in the world. A nice young lady that Natalie met for the first time at the Pro Am last night. Nat started up 1-0, then went down 1-2....then up 3-2. Going up by just striking beautiful strokes in very relaxed manner. Nice to see her finding her game again. Natalie served at 5-3 to win the set with great serving.
Started the second set up 1-0....then went down 2-1 with sloppy tennis. Natalie just stopped striking the ball and found herself down 2-5. Nat wins her serve and keeps her opponent scoreless in the next game to get the break and it was time to change sides at 4-5. With Natalie serving the "bombs", she goes up 40-0. Match point? oooo NOOOOO...gotta make it even more interesting....it goes to deuce. Then to add out and set point.....Nat battles to win the game and bring it to 5 all.
By this time, the crowd was growing and so was the support for Natalie. Excitement filled the air....a major second set comeback??
Our gal was down 10-30 and continued to dig inside herself to find her game and she did....breaking the opponent to go up 6-5. Now to serve to win the match.....yes indeed....that she did! Came out big and strong striking the ball and serves to win the set and match. WOW....that is all I could say at the end of that one, as the crowd cheered the comeback and Natalie.
With that win Natalie moves into the main draw of the tournament. Once the schedule is out, I will post the match times for both singles and dubs. Well, I think that will get you all caught up....Love and Blessings....Sherry
