Please Continue to Pray for Our Nana

A very long day came to an end around 9:30 last night.  Upon walking in our host's home, we all scattered like mice to our rooms.  Either to seek a bed or a pen for homework.  Although my eyes opened bout an hour ago, they certainly couldn't wait to close short after ten.

Headed to the tennis center at ten yesterday morning.  Skies clear and sunny, but a chill in the air.  Natalie warmed up and then had to play the waiting game.  The match on "her" court was at snail pace, eventually causes Nat's match to be moved.  Natalie just plain struggled on singles court.  Way to many unforced errors, something she hasn't done in a very long time.  Going down 0-5 in the first, then bringing it to 3-5 before losing it 3-6.  Then the second 2-6.

After the match, a teary eyed Natalie spoke about how stressed she felt about our Nana's situation.  That the phone calls from the doctor and her brother on our way to the courts was stressing her out.  Understandable to say the least.  I told her she should have said something and we could have just went home to see Nana, pulling her out of the tourney.

Nat's opponent in singles then became her partner in dubs.  Their opponents were Hibi/Harmon.  Our team fell behind in the first set rather quickly, losing it 1-6.   At the end of the first, we saw our team begin to "click", which spilled into the second set.  Natalie and Denise clicked along in the second winning it 4-6.  So onto the the breaker in lieu of the third set.  We missed a few routine shots and found ourselves down 3-5, before the match was stopped for rain.  About twenty minutes later, Denise was back to the line to serve.  Her and Nat never looked back, they plowed forward.  Denise's solid serves set Natalie up for the put way volleys.  That along with throwing in some solid lobs lead our team to a 10-7 victory of the third set and match.

Following doubles I spoke to our gal about going home today (Wednesday) for a few hours.  We could go see Nana and then come back.  For Nana will go to the OR today to have her broken shoulder and arm set.  After a lengthy discussion of options, our plan....as of this moment....stay here today and then go home for a "visit" prior to heading to Dothan.  By the time we would get home, Nana would be out of the OR and on heavy drugs for pain, Nat wants her to be awake when she goes to see her.  We will talk to Nana on the phone today and go see her as soon as Nat is finished here.  Please continue to pray for our Nana, thank you!

As if all that wasn't enough for one day, we couldn't wait to eat dinner.   Finding our way to an awesome Japanese restaurant with our host family and a friend was a perfect end to a long and stressful day.  The fellowship and laughs was just what we Pluskota gals needed.  We are very Blessed once again with a great host family!!

As long as Natalie doesn't change her mind after sleeping on our decision to wait to go see Nana.  She will visit a local school for a few hours.  Then practice and workout.  As for me, hopefully post some pictures from Jackson and here.  Sorry, no promises, for the many phone calls from home are taking up most of my day and energy.  And of course being up right now, one can only hope I can nap later.

Natalie and Denise will play again on Thursday.  The opponents will be decided today.  A dubs qualifier team will face the two seeds for the privilege of facing our team.  The two seeds are Cako/Gutherie.  You recognize anyone?

Guess that is all for now....she says yawning!  Maybe I can get some more ZZZzzZZzzzzZZZzz.  So see you on the flip side of the clouds....until then.....Love and Blessings....Sherry!
