Purses

Made it home around 10 p.m. last night.  Hungry and exhausted!  Slept in late today, so feeling pretty good.  Natalie, Loree and I have been working on all the loose ends.  Paperwork, boxing things to ship,  notecards, etc.  And of course the more we do, the more we need that needs to be done.  AAAhhhh the loose ends!

Along the way, many have asked questions about  professional tennis and prize money.  Thought I would share some info.  First, please be reminded that the prize money for a tourney is a "purse", to be shared by many.  For instance, at a 10K tourney the purse is split up as shown below:

Singles:

Winner:   $1,568
Finalist:    $980
Semi Finalist:  $490
Quarter Finalist:    $245
Rd of 16:   $196
Rd of 32:   $98

Doubles:
Keep in mind this payout is per doubles team, dollar amount to be shared.

Winner:  $637
Finalist:  $343
Semi Finalist: $196
Quarter Finalist:  $98
Rd of 16:  $49

Since the US Open is right around the corner, thought we would share the breakdown of the "purse".  So, here it is:
