Our thoughts and prayers are going out to the families and friends of the firefighters who so selflessly gave their lives to protect others. May God's hand continue to guide through this very difficult time!
Our gal headed west, and I've been slacking on the blog updates. Sorry, just not been feeling well! Natalie played Lisjak (CRO), formally 95 in the world. Who I'm assuming is coming back from injury, because she used her current "protected ranking" to get into the main draw of this tourney. Not being there I have to rely on Nat's account of what took place. Which isn't always accurate, amazing how different a player can see their match then the reality of what actually took place. Trusting this account, Nat said she was out played by a good player. Losing to Lisjak 1-6, 3-6.
Yesterday, Natalie and Jackie started their quest for the doubles title. Playing Hibi/Bhargava in the round of sixteen. I guess one of the many highlights of the match was Natalie hitting a behind the back shot to Bhargava, who shanked the ball back allowing the point to continue. Eventually, our team lost the point. But a highlight, never the less. Our team went onto win the match 6-2, 6-4.
Today, Natalie had the day off from tournament play so it was a practice day. She and Jac will continue their quest tomorrow. Playing the winner of Austin/Robinson and Frilling/Brengle. To be determined today.
Between dodging the drops at our peach stands, PT and packing my plate is full. But I am looking forward to seeing Natalie in Seattle on Saturday. But until then the lil yellow ball continues to bounce in Cali in the quest of a double title.....so until then......Love and Blessings.....Sherry!
