After a rain delay, our team finally took court against the alternate team of Hibi/Brengle. Our team went up the first set 5-4 after many "tight" points, but couldn't close out the set. Sooooo at six all, a tie breaker was played. Natalie's energy was high and it helped to carry us through a fast 7-1 breaker to win the fist set. The opponents were not going away. Hibi came up to serve first and reminder our team why she is a top ranked player. Serving bombs she was! The score went back and forth until Natalie and Jackie took control at 4 all and won the next two games and the match.
Tomorrow, our gals will play the team of Ahn/Christain. They will be the second match on after 7 p.m. ....soooo 8:30 p.m.ISH. There will be both live scoring and video live streaming, please follow the links in previous blogs.
After many hours on the computer and phone. Finally figured out a game plan. We have two free roundtrip tickets on Air Tran. That we were planning on using to fly to Seattle for the Vancouver tourney. When I tried to book the tickets, I was told AT doesn't fly there any more. Not good, since money and budget are always an issue. So, here is the game plan as of this moment in time....Jan get ready....we are coming your way....well at least I am.
OK...here goes. Tomorrow, Loree will drive me to Indianapolis where I will spend the night and fly out of to San Francisco. Loree will drive back to Lexington. She will get a ride to Lexington Airport on Friday where she will catch a shuttle to Cincy airport to fly out that day. I will drive from SF to Portland on Saturday, Seattle if Natalie is flying in earlier. Or maybe not, just will depend on many factors. Natalie and Jackie will continue to play and hopefully win this tourney and fly out when they are done.
So, Loree and I have looked up flights from 4 different cities and 6 different airlines to 2 different cities. Its been crazy. But I think we have it pretty sorted. Loree will take a shuttle to a casino where Rachel....one of Natalie's college friends will pick her up until I can get her on the way to Vancouver.
