Nat and Brooke Perservered

Today was been a great day!  When we woke up, Sherry and I went to the track and did a little cardio.  We each completed two miles and a lot of stairs, but it was a great way to start the day.  After the great workout we caught up with Natalie at the courts and waited for her to take the court.

She and Brooke ended up going on a little before 2pm.  Starting the match off a little shaky with some double faults, they continued to fight the whole first set.   After an hour or so of holding their serves but losing the breaks, Natalie and Brooke started a tie breaker to 7 for the first set.   At one point our girls were down 6-4 but persevered to win 9-7 for the set.

Starting the second set strong, Natalie and Brooke didn't falter a game and won the second set 6-0.  Incredible mental strength was shown by Natalie and Brooke because their opponents played well and had some unmatchable shots, but our girls came off the court smiling and enthusiastic about this great win.

Schedules for tomorrow have not been released, but Natalie and Brooke will be playing Ingrid Neel (USA) and A. Nefedova (RUS), who were given the wild card into the tournament.

As for tonight, Natalie will be attending the tournament's Pro Am, where she will be matched up with a member of the club and will play a little round robin doubles with other pros and members.  Should be a lot of fun to watch!!

Big thanks to all of our new fans from today's match, and thanks to Chris who is now part of the Team Pluskota Fan Club.  Natalie really appreciated your encouraging support while she was on court!

Our next stop on this tour is Lexington, KY.  Natalie will play doubles with Jackie Cako.  As for singles, last week Natalie was 75 on the alternate list, but has moved up to number 18 as of today.  So we are keeping our fingers crossed she keeps making her way up that list.

Till next time...
