Natalie and Em lost in the semis this evening. Listening to the match on the webcast was very exciting and nerve racking. Lil Ed wondered how we ever listened to sports on the radio growing up. Having 4 ...yes......4 match points and we still lost the match. Two of the match points we just gave away, the other two were earned by the other team. There was much tennis for sure the score was 7-6 (6), 6-7 (8), 11-13. We had match point in the second set, second set breaker and in the breaker for the third. Deep in the third, we hit a lobe and as it was on the rise over the opponent at the net, she reached up and "nipped" it. The radio announcer called it but the chair umpire did not. When the point was over Natalie questioned it and unfortunately sportsmanship is not always a priority for others as it is with us. And of course the chair didn't hear it, and that costed a match point. OOooo well, dubs is over at this one!
Let's hope sportsmanship and a chair umpire with new glasses and hearing aid will be a part of tomorrow's semi final singles match. For Natalie will play Brook Austin (USA)(541), the sixth seed. And one of the opponents from tonight's semi final dubs match. They will play on stadium court. First, the other dubs semi final match begins at ten. Then the other semi final singles match and then Nat. So, Natalie will be on court around 1ish. Should be on the webcast at radiotennis.com, if you are interested. And you can listen and be on live chatt at the same time.
So, until the lil yellow ball bounces again tomorrow....Love and Blessings....Sherry!
