Cop a Squat in the Church Courtyard?

Since my eyes opened at 1:30 a.m. France time and it's now 4ish....guess I will blog.  Help pass the time and maybe make me sleepy again.  Tomorrow/today is gunna be a very long day.

The only American in the qualifying draw lost, that was Natalie.  Tooo ugly for words, darn right hard to watch.  Couldn't explain it if I tried!  Error, Error and more Errors!

Following the match Natalie stayed at the courts to practice.  Which right now....to me....seems like a waste of time!  Discouraged to say the least!

I went back to St. Pierre for a photo opt.  However, I got a lil more then I bargained for.  First, I placed a few candles and prayers at the alter.  Then stepped out into the courtyard for a photo opportunity.  Was done there and headed back into the church.....so I thought.  RUT RO...the door I came out....which by the way had been open this time and the day before for my entire visits......was closed....and LOCKED.  I listened and thought I heard Mass going on, so didn't want to make noise.  Thought I would wait it out and then knock when I thought Mass was over.

As I waited, couldn't help think about having to spend the night in the courtyard.  Would my 3/4 full bottle of water be enough?  Would me being in shorts be my demise....you know would I freeze to death? Would I have cop a squat in the church's courtyard?  Can I squeeze between the bars to escape?  At what point should I turn my phone on and pay the hundreds of dollars to use it to call for help?  What would Natalie think, would she be in a panic when I don't return?

Then I slapped myself in the face and thought....you can just wave to the peeps at the cafe about 20 feet outside the locked gate and ask for help....via....sign language of course since I have no idea how to express my needs in this case...in French.

A lil over an hour later, and I hear a set of keys jingling on the other side of the door.  A lil man opened it and looked me in the face and laughed.  My reply...."not funny, I've been there a while".  His reply "yes, sorry".   My first thought, was that someone had seen me and sent him for me....and that is the thought I will hold onto.

We did meet a nice man today.  As we were walking to pick up the pizza, a gent shouted...."hey, where you from".  OMG...English....someone spoke English to us!  He is a Pastor of the local Baptist Church and from Florida.  He has been here for six years.  We chatting for a short time and he offered his assistance many times which was very sweet and reassuring.  Guess we will visit his church in the next day or two.

Doubles will start either Monday or Tuesday.  The registration deadline is Sunday at noon.  Draw will be posted following the deadline.  However, the weather is supposed to get bad here, so may be on tornado and rain delays the next few days.

Well, gunna attempted to go back to sleep!  Happy Mother's Day to the best mom EVER....my mom Clementine aka our Nana!  Love Her!  xoxoxo     And Happy Mother's Day to all the moms reading our blog!   Love and Blessings.....Sherry!

P.S.  More pics of St. Pierre....hope you like em....I went through much to get em!
