Good Day! One of the pretties days here as far as weather, sunny and warm. Natalie spent a good portion of the day practicing. And watched Allie play singles. We ate lunch at the courts and headed back to the hotel.
Went shopping for a smaller suit case, which was a failure. We purposely packed lightly, but it is still too much. And one of our large bag's wheel mounting is looking suspect, so don't want to chance it too much longer. The cost of things here are ridiculously high. Looked at a large duffel on wheels....110 Euro....or $150 (roughly). In the states the same bag would be $50-75 if that. Any way still trying to figure out how to downsize our luggage situation. Mostly, tennis shoes, clothes etc. I mean we had to pack three pairs of tennis shoes. And when she wears em out....we can't throw them away. Why you ask.....well Natalie buys her own shoes and there is a guarantee. If you wear out the outer sole in less then 6 months they replace em for the price of shipping. She wears em out in two weeks. So we have to take them back home to ship to get em replaced. What a pain!
After shopping we met up with some folks and ordered pizza. Took it back to the hotel lounge and enjoyed pizza, drinks and fellowship. Many stories and giggles! I think everyone had fun, I know I did.
Tomorrow, Nat and Al will play doubles ....second on after two o'clock....which is code and time change for 9ish AM Georgia time. They will play the team of Konta(GBR) Finchman(CAN). Just tried to look up their tourney ranking...not on the online draw sheet. You may remember Finchman, for Natalie and Jackie lost to her and her partner (not Konta) in the $100K Final in Vancouver. Should be good doubles.
When Natalie and Allie win that match....YES....I'm bias.....and it's OK....this is OUR blog.....they will play another doubles match. Mandatory 1 1/2 hour rest period. You can watch the live scoring via the link it past blog post.
And that my friends is a rap for me....tired....see you on the flip side of the lil yellow ball bouncing....Love and Blessings.....Sherry!
